Grand Opening, Planting a Spiritual Legacy

I am so excited to be part of a church plant. Our new church, Grace Anglican Community, is having its grand opening this Sunday at 10:30 am at WoodCreek Elementary in Katy, Texas. (www.graceanglicankaty.com) I am so excited to see what God is going to do.

Leaving our old church was very difficult, especially leaving behind friends who had become like family, but my husband and I really felt God was calling us to something different. We didn’t know what that was going to be but we were obedient and God was faithful. Being part of a church plant is so exciting because it is a new beginning.

This Sunday is a new beginning for all of us who will be part of the first service, but it goes way beyond us. We are part of something that will not only help those who attend grow in our faith today, but for generations to come. It is humbling and a blessing to be part of planting a spiritual legacy in our community.

I ask all of you who read this to join me in seeking the Lord in prayer on behalf of Grace Anglican Community. “At Grace Anglican Community, we believe that life is a journey.  The most important step in any journey is, of course, the next one.  That is how we progress.  That is how we grow.  When we take the next step, we experience more of the life that God has in store for us.

At Grace Anglican Community, we believe that life is a journey meant to be shared.  While God formed us to be unique individuals, he also formed us to be in relationship with others.  We place a high value on the relational component of the Christian faith.  That is why we selected the word “community” as part of our name.

At Grace Anglican Community, we seek to help people take the next step on their spiritual journey.  No matter where you are in your journey, we are here for you.  Come join us on The Way.” (from http://www.graceanglicankaty.com)

  1. May the wind of the Holy Spirit move upon you all, that you may be blessed in order to be a blessing.

    • Ena, AMEN! That is exactly what we are praying for – a mighty move of the Holy Spirit. Thanks so much. Blessings!

  2. Tawny

Congratulations! Praise God! I just lifted up a prayer. I am also planting a church! Do you have anymore posts about your plant? I would love to read them and glean wisdom from them 🙂

    • Tawny, thanks for the prayers. How exciting that you are planting a church as well. Keep me posted on you and your church so I can pray for you all. The only other post I have on the subject talks about leaving our old church. It is entitled, “Change, Endings & the Unknown”. Blessings!

  3. This is exciting. It would be wonderful to be involved in church planting. Praying that Jesus will always be the number one focus in your precious community of believers. It’s easy to get carried away with all the “things to do”… And a special prayer for you and your women’s ministry, may the richness of His grace and wisdom be with you always as you serve others.

I love the logo of the wayside cross and the font of the word Grace…beautiful!

    • Shadowlilies, thanks! We are certainly remaining in prayer that we would keep our focus on the Lord and His will not ours. I appreciate your prayers. I love the wayside cross too – it is such a wonderful visual and represents the journey we are all on. Blessings!

  4. Wonderful! I’ll be praying for your church. We almost moved to Katy! It was either Katy or here! Wow! 🙂

  5. Congratulations! And I pray God will Bless you mightily throughout this new year!

  6. Shelly, congratulations on your wonderful faith journey! May your new community be blessed with growth, strength, trust, and the continuing presence of God in your midst. Take care! 🙂

    • Marie,

Thank you for your inspiring words of encouragement. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us. Blessings to you!
