All You Need is Love

Happy Valentine’s Day! “All You Need is Love” is the title of a Beatles song and it has a lot of truth in it. However, it is whose love you need that is important. We need the amazing, unfailing, unconditional love of our Heavenly Father. If we have His love, everything else in your life will begin to fall into place and make sense. This is not to say you won’t have difficulties, but you won’t be alone in dealing with them; the Lord will be right there with you.

Valentine’s Day can be exciting and wonderful if you feel loved and have someone special to spend it with, but if you don’t, it can be a dark and depressing day. I want to encourage you to focus on the love of the Lord today. His love is unchanging. He loves you as much today as He did yesterday and will tomorrow. There is nothing you can do to change His love for you; to make Him love you more or love you less. His love is not dependent upon what we have done or not done, it is unconditional.

John 3:16

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

When we are truly able to experience His love, we want to share it with others. Think about who the Lord might lead you to share His love with today. Rather than focusing on all the hearts, flowers and chocolates that go along with Valentine’s day, focus on the love our Father has for us in sending His Son Jesus. Be Ask the Lord to help you see those around you who may be struggling with this holiday because they don’t feel loved. Be bold in your faith today and share Christ’s love with someone who needs it. You won’t just make their day, you will be helping to transform their lives.

1 John 4:19

We love because he first loved us.
